I know you think I don’t understand - Just Because…………….
Just because you straighten your hair and I curled my hair doesn’t mean I don’t understand how hard it is to keep up with the latest fad.
Just because you say random, phat and whatever and I said cool and gnarly doesn’t mean I don’t understand fitting in.
Just because we called it “Going Steady” and you call it “Going Out” doesn’t mean I don’t understand wanting someone in your life.
Just because I passed notes and you send Texts – doesn’t mean I don’t know what its like to have your message sent to people it’s not intended for.
Just because I’m older – doesn’t mean I can’t possibly know what you are dealing with, I was once 10, 15, 20…. You’ve never been 40, 45 or 50.
Just because when you come to me I quote scripture instead of whatever you think it is I should do, doesn’t mean I don’t care. It doesn’t mean that inside I don’t have rage for someone hurting my loved one. It means I trust in my God who has never let me down. My God, that knows exactly what I need, exactly when I need it. My God that can serve justice for me and for you in a way I could never think of.
