Gettin' Fine in '09 Week 7

Wow how time flies... Sorry for the delay I thought about it on Friday and thought Oh I will post on Sunday after my weigh in. Oh well all is okay. I've been pretty boring in my routines, because I'm pretty routine. :) But I have great news...... I lost 2 lbs last week for a total of 14lbs. Yahoo!!! I really wanted to hit my 15lb mark, but hopefully soon. (like this week)
Okay here are the things I ate and did differently last week and the start of this one.
I ate pretty bad the first part of last week so towards the end I really started watching my points carefully because I was out of my weekly points. So what I did was 1st thing in the morning I deducted my dinner and dessert points. I know myself, I know I will eat X amount and possibly dessert so take it off. That way through out the day when you say oh I'll eat this and that then you get to dinner time and you have only 4 pts left well that is not enough for dinner so then you go over. I know in the end it comes out the same but it seems work real well to subtract those pts and then know I only have this for the daytime. I can hold out better knowing that I will be able to have a satisfying dinner if I wait. And it seemed to work because I lost. :) So I am doing it again this week we will see how it works.
Here is my routine meals:
I have been eating Cheerios's or oatmeal within an hour after my work out, yogurt and berries for my morning snack, soup (progresso low fat) and salad with 5-8 saltine crackers, for lunch. Then I have dinner and sometimes a fudge bar. :) If I need additional energy or snacks I do veggies with fat free ranch dip, or a banana or a Fiber One bar... they are so good!
Well I think I have rambled enough... Blessings,
Lynn

But if I am honest - I have not worked out enough and have eaten more than I should... so there you have it! :)

Thanks for the Prayers - Home Safe

The title says it all! We had a wonderful time, great fun laughing and talking and being together.

Now here are a few pictures of how the prayers helped. The roads over the mountain pass were clear on the way down, but a snow storm hit Saturday and Sunday so here is our drive home. A 5 hr trip took 6 1/2.
It is hard to see by there was a jack-knifed truck up ahead and this is where we needed to put chains on. There was slush over ice here. As we were putting on the chains, two pick-ups came flying by, one of which fish tailed and almost hit the car behind us and then did a 360 in the rode right beside and in front of us.

(Pretty much center of this picture)

As we were driving.

And just so the whole world knows, my sweet husband had to get out several times and mess with the chains to get them just right. He was wet and cold and all so I could spend time with my family and all he said was "It's okay - it's not that big of a deal"! What a sweetheart! Well he did say he didn't like the snow too :).

Thanks again for the prayers - We know it was God keeping us safe.

Blessings,
Lynn

Mr. Ed is that you?

Today in our Chronological reading hosted by Wendy, we read Numbers 22-24.

You can click on the links above and do the reading and/or read what Wendy had to say about the reading.

The reading today.

Thanks Wendy, I wasn't understanding why God told Balaam to go and then got mad at him - you cleared that up - God saw his heart. Thx

Then I too was wondering why is he not questioning the Donkey talking? :) (That's why the reference to Mr. Ed)

What struck me also today was how King Balak kept trying and trying to get what he wanted. How many times has any of us tried to get someone to side up with us on something? Then when the other doesn't agree - but look at this and look at that. "Now do you agree?" I was just talking to my husband yesterday about this. How when we ask someones opinion, do we really want it or are we trying to be validated? You will know by your reaction to their answer. If you argue with their answer - you only wanted to be validated. I've been both Balaam and King Balak, and unfortunately I don't think I always listened to my Donkey as well as I should have. But getting better every day!!! :)

I love how Balaam repeatedly says "I will speak only the message that the Lord puts in my mouth." If I could adhere to that... 24-7 - Wow!

Hope you all have a great day.
Blessings

Obedience to God

I am reading the chronological Bible with Wendy Pope and a bunch of others come join us!

Today re read how Moses struck the rock to get water instead of speaking to the rock. Go ahead and read what Wendy had to say about it and this is what came on my heart to say.

Wendy,
Very well stated. I'm seeing in this how God could see the unbelief in them or us by our disobedience. Very good. And you are right. God is so sweet and kind to not call us out (unless we continue without repentance) and still blesses us more and more. I'm enjoying this very much - it's hard to put in words what I see and learn but it's really good. So I'll leave it at that, I'm learning a lot. :)
I'm seeing that our grumbling makes God sad and angry just like it does when our children do not appreciate us. I see how our safety either spiritually or physically depends on us doing what God says and when we don't it makes Him sad and angry. I see how God has the wisdom of knowing the end from the beginning and wants to give us that wisdom all of it but knows He has to dole it out little by little. And even when we don't obey completely, when we look up to Him with our big eyes and say Daddy, I need you, He drops everything (not really He can handle it all at once) and focuses on us wraps us in his arms and says "I still Love you". I see a God that I don't want to live with out. Thanks to God and Thanks to all for listening.

Blessings everyone!

Memory Verse #5

This morning I was waiting for my Weight Watchers meeting to start, and was looking through a pamphlet that I received from Joyce Meyers. Then I remembered that I needed a new scripture to memorize. So I looked through and found this verse. (Below) So I told myself that I would come home and put it in my journal and do my post. Then the meeting still had not started so I got out my pocket calendar, from another ministry that we also support and guess what the scripture was for the month of March? Yep, the same one. So I think God picked this out for me, what do you think?

Matthew 5:14

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. (NLT)

Works for me!

Have a great day and start of your week.
Blessings
Lynn
