Gettin Fine in '09 Week 8

I'm all off on my posts so this was the post that should have been for April 3.

Nothing new I'm doing the same things, and I am slowly inching down. I am at 15lbs lost, and to treat myself for a accomplishment I got two new smaller pair of work out pants and a new purse. Yahoo!

Thanks for reading!

Gettin' Fine in '09 Week 7

Wow how time flies... Sorry for the delay I thought about it on Friday and thought Oh I will post on Sunday after my weigh in. Oh well all is okay. I've been pretty boring in my routines, because I'm pretty routine. :) But I have great news...... I lost 2 lbs last week for a total of 14lbs. Yahoo!!! I really wanted to hit my 15lb mark, but hopefully soon. (like this week)
Okay here are the things I ate and did differently last week and the start of this one.
I ate pretty bad the first part of last week so towards the end I really started watching my points carefully because I was out of my weekly points. So what I did was 1st thing in the morning I deducted my dinner and dessert points. I know myself, I know I will eat X amount and possibly dessert so take it off. That way through out the day when you say oh I'll eat this and that then you get to dinner time and you have only 4 pts left well that is not enough for dinner so then you go over. I know in the end it comes out the same but it seems work real well to subtract those pts and then know I only have this for the daytime. I can hold out better knowing that I will be able to have a satisfying dinner if I wait. And it seemed to work because I lost. :) So I am doing it again this week we will see how it works.
Here is my routine meals:
I have been eating Cheerios's or oatmeal within an hour after my work out, yogurt and berries for my morning snack, soup (progresso low fat) and salad with 5-8 saltine crackers, for lunch. Then I have dinner and sometimes a fudge bar. :) If I need additional energy or snacks I do veggies with fat free ranch dip, or a banana or a Fiber One bar... they are so good!
Well I think I have rambled enough... Blessings,
Lynn

Getting Fine in '09

At this point bah hum bug! :) I was out of town last week for mini family reunion and lots of food It looked like I had lost 2 pounds from the last couple weeks, however this morning it looks nothing. So I guess tomorrow will tell the tale.
But if I am honest - I have not worked out enough and have eaten more than I should... so there you have it! :)
Blessings,
Lynn

Gettin' Fine in '09 - Week 3

Hello,
Well I have this strange thing that keeps happening with my weight. I go all week long and it looks like I've lost 2-3 pounds and then on Sunday's which is my Weight Watchers meeting day, I've lost 1/2 to 2 pounds. So last Friday's weight was wrong. I did lose from the prior week so that was good. So as of my last weigh in at WW, I have lost 11 pounds. I only worked out once this week, but have been really good about tracking what I've eaten and am staying within my points.
My lounging/workout pants are too loose (yeah) and I was even able to get into a pair of jeans that I could barely zip up only a month ago. So the trains moving :)! Also I am so happy to say I have less than 50 pounds to loose. Yahoo! For so long it was I have over 50, then I have about 50, now it is a little under 50. :) At this point it looks like I have lost another 1.4 pounds which would put me at 12.4 total, but I will post the total loss after my weigh in on Sunday.
Update: I did loose 1.4 #'s this week which is a Grand Total of 12.4 pounds! :)
My food finds that helped this week:
Egg Quesadilla - 3Pts
2 egg whites
1 1/2 0z Black forest ham (or very lean not processed)
1 Tbsp organic Salsa
3 Tbsp Grated Parmesan OR 2 Tbsp of Grated Cheddar or Pepper Jack
(If you use Cheddar or Pepper Jack add 1 Point)
1 6-7" Whole Wheat Lo Carb Tortilla (1pt)
Scramble Egg Whites with Ham and Salsa.
Take the Tortilla and sprinkle 1/2 the cheese on 1/2 or the tortilla.
Next add the cooked eggs on top of the cheese and top with rest of cheese.
Fold the other 1/2 of tortilla over and place in toaster oven on Toast or regular oven at 400 until tortilla starts to brown. Take out and cut in wedges, enjoy with more salsa or plain. You could have 1 C of berries or another fruit for 1 more point if you like.
This seems to keep me full a little longer than some other breakfast foods with the same points and is a nice treat.
Fat Free Popcorn 5 Cups only 1 Pt. :) Nice for a snack when you want just a little something salty.
If you mix yogurt with frozen berries or other Fruit, it almost feels like your eating Ice Cream and that is a nice treat.
God gave me a little nugget of revelation that gave me a different perspective on what I am doing. The word diet is usually associated with starving oneself. But a diet is what one eats. This is what God showed me when a couple weeks ago, I gained those two pounds so easily, and it is so hard to lose them. It's not that I have to deprive myself of food, but the fact is - the portions that I am eating now, is all the food my body can metabolise. If my body could burn it up and use it, it would but it can't. For some reason thinking of it in that context, helped. I'm overworking my body by trying to make it burn up fuel it doesn't need. I know it's the same information we have heard for years but sometimes God gets the message across in a way that works. :) So I'm passing that revelation on, if it helps someone besides me, great if not that's fine too.
Have a healthy Blessed Week I'll edit my post on Sunday to show my actual total loss.
Blessings,
Lynn

Getting Fine in '09 Week 2

Well today just got away from me. My sweetheart took the day off and we spent the day together. As I was checking blogs I realized I forgot my Friday Getting Fine Blog. Opps.
Well I weighed in at Weight Watchers on Sundays and last Sunday was not nice to me, I had gained 2 pounds. :) But in all actuality I think I did it to myself. Opps. But I have been much better this week and as of today or should I say this morning I have lost another, 1.8 pounds. (from the weight before the gain) Happy face. 2/8 182.8 2/15 184.8 and today 181.0 so we will see what Sunday brings, but I'm happy I got that extra 2 pounds off, plus some.
As far as work outs, I am still doing the Weight Watchers "Next Move" tape along with any walks that I can get in with my wonderful Husband. Today I didn't work out, however we went to an RV show and walked around for 3 1/2 hours and climbed in and out of RV's so that has to count for something. Actually in WW it counts as 7-8 activity points. :).
It is actually very nice to know that I can now say I have less than 50# to lose. For the longest time I have said that I have over 50 to lose now I can say I have between 4o and 45 and Yahoo!
Have a great week.

Getting Fine in '09

Well I have signed up to be accountable for my fitness and weight loss. First I started Weight Watchers back in Mid October and now with Sarah at all Pain no Gain and some others. Every Friday we will post how we did and what we did on our journey towards a healthy body and lifestyle.
I dieted about 5 years ago and lost 20 pounds which actually put me within 10 pounds of where I wanted to be. But let me back up a few and give you some background - At first putting on weight was kind of fun, see for the first 25 years of my life I had gone to nutritionist to help me gain weight. At the peak of pregnancy I weighed 121. Two weeks after delivery I was back to 98 lbs. I stayed between 93 and 98 lbs most of my life, until I had my hysterectomy at the age of 29. Four months later my first husband and I split and got a divorce. After that I gained up to 135, and that's what I weighed when my (2nd) current husband and I got married when I was 34. Then I started gaining on a more regular basis, about 5-10 lbs a year. My Grandma tells me I'm happy, and I am very. So this is where I (really)dieted for the first time and lost the 20 lbs. But some major things happened in my life for a couple of years and I gained 50 lbs. I tried some diets during the last 5 years off and on, but in October I went back to Weight Watchers because that's what I lost on before. So here are the stats you patiently read my life story for. I'm 5' 4 1/2" My peak weight was 196, I lost down to 194.4 when I started back at weight watchers and at my last weigh-in I had lost 11.6 lbs. (182.8) Sometimes I get discouraged because it is coming off so slow, but at least it is coming off.
My goal is to be between 135 and 140, and if I'm really buff I'll settle for 145 as long as I am really toned.
Right now for my exercise I am doing outside walks with Hubby when weather allows, approximately 2-3 miles, and then I have some work out videos that I alternate. "Turbo Jam" by Beach Body, Several of Leslie Sansone's Walk away the pounds, and lately my favorite is "Next Move" by Weight Watchers They have 5 work outs on the one DVD that are all 20 mins. I like it because I can do 20 of Cardio and then do 10 - 20 mins of upper, lower or total body toning for a 30-40 min work out. I work a sit down job for 4-10hr days a week and then my hobbies are reading sewing and blogging, so I know that the exercise is a really important thing for me at this stage in my life. I will be 46 in October and it will be wonderful to be at goal for my next birthday. Hows that for positive speech.
Blessings and prosperity for all who are working at a better you.
Lynn
