Golden Heart Award

My dear friend Alice who has the blog "From the Heart" passed this award on to me.
Now I have the honor to pass this award to 5 other bloggers who have been very meaningful in my life and I truly feel they have a heart of "Gold".
This is so hard because so many people through out my blogging have touched me in one way or another. So I first want to say that all of you have touched my life, but I will mention a few that have special places. Alice you're awesome and thank you for your heart of gold. Sharon, you are one of the cheeriest people I know. Plant Lady, I know you haven't blogged a lot lately, but you have a kindred spirit with me and our childhoods. When you do write it is very up-lifting. Paula, what a gift of writing God has given you. You seem to have the words that I wish God would give me. Debrah a fighting spirit for the topics the rest of us complain about but you tackle, thank you. Most of you all know each other, but I want to make give this award to another very special friend that I feel also has a very golden heart. Molly! This is one of several blogs she has. Molly has energy that just bounces through her blog posts, e-mails and crafty ideas and projects. Battling her own physical limitations, she is ever ready to help others any way she can. Thanks Molly for being a special part of my life. See this is hard I could go on and on. I will stop there, but please remember you have all been part of my life. Alice thanks again.
Blessings to all of you.

Being Kind to the Poor
Things that struck me from my Chronological Reading today and Wendy's Comments.
Psalm 41:1 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
My Mother and I despite our differences at times in life were best friends. She was raised by her Grandmother because her own Mother died when my Mom was 4. From what Mom told us Great Grandma was not very kind to my Mom, but did teach a very special lesson to Mom that has been passed down. Be kind to the poor. Great Grandma lived a couple miles from the train tracks and the "Hobo's" as they were called in the 40's and 50's would come to the back door and she would give them a plate of food. She told my Mother never to deny anyone a meal you never knew when it might be Jesus. Before my Mom passed away, she had a thriving ministry of feeding the homeless. Even as her own health was very frail she would cook a hot meal every Saturday take it to the park and pray with the less fortunate and then they could have a hot meal and a sack lunch. With so many that stand on the side of the road, it is easy to get desensitized to the poor, but I ask God for discernment on who to help and who not to. I too have a great desire to always be giving. Many times in my life I was not wise with my giving nature and was taken advantage of. That's where the discernment has needed to come in. I have learned that even though God tells us to give and be kind to the less fortunate that we need to use His wisdom and discernment, so that we are balanced.
Thanks for listening,

Thankful Thursday
I'm not part of the Meme for Thankful Thursdays, I just want to be thankful.
So many times I want to in the flesh, be carried away with my planning and agenda. Then when there are adjustments or hurdles that interrupt my plan it is easy to get frustrated.
Today I want to, on purpose be Thankful to my Father God in Heaven that has Blessed my cup to overflowing, and has a vision of me that is so big.
I want to be Thankful that He trusts that I can be a good steward over all these Blessings that He has given me.
I want to be Thankful that in the middle of errands, work, and appointments that I can stop and remember that Jesus had way more to handle than I can ever imagine.
I want it to be my great pleasure to put aside my wants or desires for an hour to do something that needs to be done, or to help someone else... because after all didn't Jesus put His feelings aside for me?
I want today and everyday to start with a heartfelt gratefulness for God and what He has done for me.
So for today ..... I am thankful! Thank You Jesus!

What shall I wear?
I am following a study of the book of Proverbs and today we were reading Proverbs 4:5-9. And I got some really great revelations from what Linda was saying.
She was talking about Solomon trying to get his Sons so seek wisdom.
Proverbs 3:21-22 My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion; 22 So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.
In Proverbs 4:9 She (Wisdom) will place a lovely wreath on your head; she (wisdom) will present you with a beautiful crown.” Emphasis Mine
What came to me when I was reading today as she made the reference to the adornment of the ornament of grace around our neck, then the crown of glory was this.
In Matthew 6:28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
Then in Ephesians 6: 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
What God was showing me this morning is that we are always concerned with our fleshly welfare. That the clothing that we think of in Matthew 6 is of cloth but there is a much more important clothing that He wants us to have. Our flesh on this earth is so temporal. In Isaiah God tells us: Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
Clothing is a form of protection. Our Spirit will live for eternity (if we accept Jesus as our Savior - Romans 10:9-10) and the clothing that God is equipping us with is clothing that will protect and equip us in eternal life. Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Wisdom, Faith, Salvation, Sword of the Spirit. God wants us to have heaven on Earth, and this type of clothing prepares, equips and protects us. Protects our spirit.
Again Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
God wants to Clothe me in a much bigger/greater way. He wants to clothe, adorn, equip me/us with what will protect us. We think of cloth clothing as a protective layer to our physical skin, God is looking to clothe and protect our spiritual skin.
Thank you for reading!
Blessings,Lynn
